The Windows Vista Firewall automatically detects programs that require special firewall rules, then prompts you to allow or deny them. Click the "Start&quo t; button. Type "Windows Firewall" into the search box at the bottom of the Start menu. Click "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" in the Start menu. Click the "Inbound Rules" or "Outbound Rules" category on the left-hand side of the window that appears. The inbound rules category displays programs that require incoming connections, the outbound rules category displays programs that require outgoing connections. Click the "Filter By Group" option at the right side of the window and click Rules Without a Group. A list of detected programs appears in the "Name" ; column.
