Open My Computer in your Computer/Laptop . This dialog box shows all hard drive partition of your Computer/Laptop . Every drive partition has its own letter assignment like C: and its own volume name, such as Backups. Record the letter assignment and volume name of the drive you want to convert, and close the window. Open the Start menu again. Click All Programs and then click Accessories. Right-click the Command Prompt icon, and select Run as Administrator on the context menu. Type convert (drive letter) /fs:ntfs (without quotes) and then press Enter. For example, the command might be convert d: /fs:ntfs when completed. Types the volume names recorded and press Enter. Windows converts the hard drive or partition to the NTFS file system and displays the message Conversion Complete when it is finished. Type Exit (without quotes) and press Enter to return to the desktop.
