Purpose
To recognize students who are exemplary in overall scholarship as well as scientific ability and achievement, and to recognize among those students one student as most outstanding.
Nomination
Two students may be nominated from each school.
Preparation
The student must complete and return the nomination form and an abstract of an original laboratory or field research project she or he has conducted by the October 1, 2010 deadline.
The information given on the form must be verified and attested to by the signatures of the student's faculty sponsor and building principal.
One copy of an extended abstract and one copy of an abstract that conforms to the American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) guidelines. Please note that only the extended abstract will be judged. The nominee must be prepared to participate in a 15-minute interview at the Indiana Junior Academy of Science. A brief (less than five minute) explanation of the student's research project may be requested by the judges. The only visual aids the candidate may use are graphs, charts, and figures suitable for a professional "poster session" display (max. h=4', max. w=6'). You may NOT use PowerPoint.
