Ever thought why break ups seem easier to cop up for men instead of women? Why females take it long to erase their ex from their mind? Should it be taken that men are never serious in relationships?
The truth is that both genders are mentally coded that way. Women are more emotional and take time to develop their love and get deeply attached to their beloved, whereas males are much into data and facts rather than emotions so it’s easier for them to deal with break up blues.
Mumbai-based relationship counselor Dr Rajan Bhonsle says, “For most women, falling in love is a slow, gradual process. A woman’s attraction for a man builds over time as she gets herself to love, figure, understand him. She invests heavily in him, which is why a failed relationship or betrayal hurts more.”
Psychotherapist Dr Reema Shah denotes it on the social conditioning of genders rather than the generalization, “Women are demonstrative because we have social sanction to emote openly. Since the expression is visible, the world thinks we are having a tougher time. Men don’t talk about breakups publicly like women can, and do. They continue with their routine, which makes it seem like they aren’t grieving.”
She further says, “Which is how they are able to get back to life, although they might still be craving her presence. It’s only when it sinks in that she may not return that it hits the man.”
Every lock has its key, so moving on and indulging in your favorite activities and people is the only key to heartbreaks.
