In order to cash on the huge success of the new found Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha jodi, which has become the talk of town post the roaring success of their latest release Rowdy Rathore, producers UTV Motion Pictures are in a hurry to release the star pair’s next movie, Joker.

Buzz has it that instead of releasing Joker on September 14 as was originally planned; UTV will now release it on August 31. And to accomplish this change of dates, we have heard that the production house has even pushed back the release of its Ranbir Kapoor starrer, Barfi.

Speaking on the lines, Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director, studios, Disney UTV said, “We want to come out with our Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha film as soon as possible, so we made this switch. It was possible to do this because we dropped the idea of converting Joker to the 3D format and so the film does not need much time in post-production.”

He insisted that Barfi requires a little more time for post-production than was originally conceived, so the Anurag Basu film will benefit from this change of release date. Kapur added, “Barfi is a film in which the music and post-production is really important, so we really didn’t want to rush it. I think it’s a win-win situation for both films.”

As known, Joker is a touted sci-fi film directed and co-produced by Shirish Kunder and all are eyeing this next directorial from the ends of Kunder!

Let’s see if the Sonakshi-Akshay pair brings in any good luck for the film!
