Mira Nair is known for her unconventional style of film making, she grabbed the highlights with her movies like Salaam Bombay, Kama sutra and Monsoon Wedding. Her movies have received tremendous critical and commercial acclaim.

The latest news making its way is that her flick The Reluctant Fundamentalist is going to open 69th Venice Film Festival which will take place from 29th August to 8th September 2012. The movie stars Bollywood veterans Om Puri, Shabana Azmi along with Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson, Kiefer Sutherland, Liev Schreiber and Martin Donovan. It is financed by Doha Film Institute and produced by Lydia Dean Pilcher as a Mirabai Films and Cine Mosaic production.

The Reluctant Fundamentalist was shot in Delhi, Lahore, Istanbul, New York and Atlanta. The story of the movie is based on the eponymous best-selling novel by Mohsin Hamid, published in 2007. As per the sources, the novel was translated in 25 languages. The flick incorporates the story of a young Pakistani man chasing corporate success on Wall Street, later he finds himself stuck in a conflict between the call of his family's homeland, his American dream and a hostage crisis.
