Saina Nehwal set to miss China Open; will now participate in Japan Open!

on August 25 at 02:08pm
Star shuttler Saina Nehwal, who had a great run in recently concluded London Olympics 2012 winning a bronze medal in singles game, has decided to take some time off from the sport. The badminton sensation is set to miss next month's super series tournament in China.

National badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, on the sidelines of a function to felicitate four of the Games medal winners by the Olympic Gold Quest, said, "Saina would not be playing in the Super Series event in China. She wants some more time off. She would take part in the Japan Open."

The Li Ning China Masters 2012, among badminton's super series tournaments, is scheduled from September 11-16 at Changzhou in China. Now the star player will return to her game in September as she will participate in Yonex Japan Open, the next super series event, scheduled in Tokyo from September 18-23.

Gopichand indicated that the country's top men shuttlers, including losing singles quarter finalist in London, Parupalli Kashyap, would participate in the super series in China.

Well, we appreciate your decision Saina. After all, prevention is better than cure and we hope that you come back with a bang in Japan Open!

Wonderful decision. You have all talent to come first. According to my view, please concentrate on your deceptive skills as if like li xuerui. You will definitely win wang yihan. No doubt in that. Carry on with your good work. I wish you to get japan open this time and return back.
