Here comes another bend to already twisted tale as Rohan Bopanna also denied partnering Leander Paes in London Olympics. Two days before taking the same route Mahesh Bhupathi also has denied partnering with Paes, he even decided to skip Olympics if he doesn’t get to partner Bopanna.
Bopanna said, "Since the beginning of the year, I have partnered with Mahesh Bhupathi towards playing as a team at the Olympics. This was communicated to the AITA at every step and we were encouraged to continue to play together. Having played alongside Leander Paes only twice during my career, I recognize that as a team we are under-prepared for the demands of Olympic competition."
On the other side, the All India Tennis Association (AITA) found itself cornered with the ministry dashing off a six-point letter to its president Anil Khanna, asking him why his body decided on selecting only one team for the quadrennial event when two teams could have been sent.
AITA had on Friday named Paes and Bhupathi as India's lone entry to the London Games. The ministry's move came after it received a letter from Bhupathi who complained bitterly against AITA's move. Now let’s wait to find what the final decision comes!
