It seemed like one of the easiest game to win for Roger Federer as he took on 68th-ranked Fabio Fognini at the Wimbledon's Centre Court on a windy day.
And as it seemed he won the match with much ease defeating breaking through Fognini's defence taking the stylish six-time champion to a 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 win in 74-minutes in a second round clash that was over even before it began.
For Federer, who lost just three games in his first round, there was no roller-coaster waiting to unravel during his second round engagement which he worked to keep straight and simple. "I was serving well," he said, "You are not going to get many points in a set against me when I am serving like that and also varying it well."
His previous meeting with Fognini was five years ago in Canada when the Italian took just two games off the champion. Adding further he said, "On grass you have to be really patient and focus on your own serve, a thing you can control. On clay if you are playing well, you get your chances, but on grass it's not like that. He fell behind quickly, after that things get complicated. I didn't think it was that easy a match. I focused and tried to play a clean match."
