Attraction towards opposite sex is a common human nature. Usually this attraction gets converted into friendship and finally into love. Indeed friendship is the beginning of love. Now the question arises, does it happen in all the cases? Can men and women be friends only rather falling into love? This has been a topic of debate since ages.

Now a new study reveals that the friendships with the opposite sex are driven by sexual attraction, surprisingly no matter whether they are single or not.  Women like to have a spiritual relationship with their close friend if their current relationship is in trouble. The study stressed on the fact that long term friendly relationships between a man and woman may turn into love. Factors like impact of work and hobbies play a vital role in molding a relationship.

A survey was conducted to prove this fact, in a confidential questionnaire, 88 pairs of young male and female friends were asked to scale their attraction towards each other. Men (attached or single) were highly attracted towards their female friends. Even single women were also attracted towards their close male friend while attached women wanted something to come of that attraction if their relationship was in trouble.

Though this study is not a hardcore proof but forms a strong base of the fact that men and women can’t be friends!
