Heartthrob of small screen Karan Kundra earned a place in the hearts of youngsters, playing the shrewd and arrogant Arjun in both the seasons of Kitni Mohabbat Hai.
His on screen romance with Arohi aka Kritika Kamra set a new record on television. And though the show is all over, people still can’t get enough of the Punjabi hunk. It is notable that post KMH; Karan had shifted his focus to Punjabi films. In fact, he is even said to have done a couple of films down there.
And currently he is winning hearts playing the cool host of Gumrah- End of Innocence season 2; co-produced by Balaji Telefilms and Lost Boy Productions, the show looks at real life crime stories where teenagers have gone astray.
When asked if money is the reason behind such crimes, Karan says, “No, how many Indians actually have money? The problem stems from the fact that today’s middle and upper middle class parents don’t have time for their kids. When we have any problem, we just Google. So parent’s think the kids will learn about right and wrong from elsewhere as well.”
Talking more on show’s popularity, he added, “Star network honcho (Uday Shankar) felt that the same show which was first on a youth channel (Channel V) can also work on a GEC (General Entertainment Channel) as it addresses common social malaise. The best part is that the shift has been done without any dilution to the concept.”
