Imran Khan has decided to produce his grand-dad Nasir Hussain's films, who passed a decade before. The oldies must remember that Nasir Hussain ruled the roost between 1948-1996; giving the Hindi film industry truly memorable and breezy cinema.
His evergreen films are counted as Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai in 1961, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon (1963), Teesri Manzil (1966), Yaadon Ki Baraat (1973), Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai (1981).
Nasir's only son Mansoor; Imran's maternal uncle, also gave the banner a shot in the arm with his Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992). But, Mansoor went into hibernation after Shah Rukh Khan-Aishwarya Rai film Josh (2000).
Today Mansoor lives in Conoor; does farming, runs a hotel and has no plans whatsoever to return to cinema. In fact, some of his closest friends say that even when Mansoor visits Mumbai; he wants to leave almost immediately because even seeing the Mumbai skyline reportedly depresses him.
So now it is young Imran's turn to revive the banner. The light-eyed actor is already in talks with close family and trusted people on this subject and it is only a matter of time before he starts to revive Nasir saab's legacy. Good job Imran!
