One of the highest paid actors in Indian cinema, Salman Khan seems to be in demand from overseas as well. If buzz is to be believed then this Dabangg star has been appointed as brand ambassador for the inaugural Sri Lanka Premiere league.
The 2012 Sri Lanka Premier League season will be the debut edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League, established by Sri Lanka Cricket in 2011. The season will run from 10 August to 31 August 2012. The tournament was originally scheduled to begin in 2011 but was postponed.
According to the source, "There's a big craze for Bollywood in Sri Lanka, and Salman has been approached. There's been no official announcement yet, but Salman has agreed." It is also learned that Salman is a good friend of Sri Lanka's president's son, and hence has given his nod. Things are yet not finalized but if Salman has engaged in the inaugural function, this will surely raise his fan following in one more country.
Though Indian cricketers are not allowed playing in SPL but we hope Salman will make up for the absence of Indians.
