Tinseltown actor James Franco has landed into legal trouble after his former university lecturer filed a lawsuit against him in an ongoing legal dispute. It was only last year that Jose Angel Santana took court action last year against New York University, alleging he was unfairly dismissed from his job after giving Franco a 'D' grade for cutting class.
And recently he has lodged papers at Manhattan Supreme Court against the actor himself, demanding unspecified damages following comments Franco made in April about his time at the university.
In the suit, Santana contends that Franco made "disparaging and inaccurate public statements" about him after he gave the 127 Hours star the low grade in his Directing the Actor II class in 2010 - because of his poor attendance record.
"Whoever was in Clint Eastwood's chair at the Republican National Convention was more present than Mr. Franco was in my classes. He uses the bully pulpit of his celebrity to punish anyone who doesn't do his bidding," Santana told the sources.
"I didn't deserve to be on the receiving end of those falsehoods. I was outraged that someone with his attendance record at NYU had the audacity to make those statements," added Santana.
Looks like Franco is going to have tough time fighting the legal battle with his former teacher!
