In our star studded Indian Film Industry, there are a few celebs who are socially responsible and one of them is Dia Mirza. She has made the whole nation proud by winning an IIFA 2012, Green award for her contribution towards a Greener environment.

The actress has been environmentally conscious since her childhood, for her contemporaries she is a real source of inspiration. Dia was inspired by her father who refused a lucrative offer to redesign their factory because they were spewing effluents in a nearby river. The actress was conscious towards saving energy and water when she was in the school. You would be amazed to know that the actress used to turn off the switches and lights whenever she left her class.

As per the industry sources, Dia is extremely happy on being rewarded with IIFA Green Award 2012. On being quizzed, she told the sources, “I am grateful that IIFA continues to recognize efforts that are made in the direction of making our world a better place to live in, and I hope that I continue to be a small part of a movement that believes in doing their bit for today and tomorrow."

Dia is pleased on getting a Congratulatory message from Justice Verma (Former Chief justice of India and Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission).
