Speculations regarding Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie Kochadaiyaan’s leading lady finally have been put to rest! There were rumours since long over actress Katrina Kaif all set to be paired opposite Rajini for the flick!

But no, the lucky lady is not Katrina but its Deepika Padukone who will act opposite the superstar in the film. Early reports stated that Katrina Kaif had been signed which were later denied by the PRO of the production house. They have officially confirmed that Deepika has been roped in to play the female lead in Kochadaiyaan.

The 3D Tamil film will be directed by the mega star's younger daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin and written by K.S. Ravikumar.

Soundarya tweeted: "Guys. Deepika padukone confirmed to play appa s pair in Kochadaiyaan :) great to have you back with us @deepikapadukone :):) big hug!" Deepika, who had earlier been signed on for Rajinikanth's 'Rana' will now be seen in Kochadaiyaan as well.

Rana has been shelved for the time being and Rajini has taken up Kochadaiyaan. Soundarya is also said to have roped in Tamil actress Sneha to play Rajinikanth's sister's role while actress Shobana and actor Aadhi will also play important roles.
