Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz starrer Barfi’s promotions have been going good so far and there is a hope in Anurag Basu that this film will bring in success from all sides, but the result is yet to be seen.
Talking about behind the scenes part of the movie and its making, there is one thing that will interest everyone. Barfi’s art director Rajat Podar in one of the scenes of the movie needed a train very desperately.
Plywood and cooking tumblers had already been used in making the headlights of the train and now the engine of the train was required. Anurag Basu, the mastermind offered his first car Maruti 800 to be the engine of the train. The car was modified and was used as the engine.
Anurag Basu said, “We needed a train for the shoot, and we practically created it out of my first car. After we created the body of the train, we didn't know how to move it. Suddenly, I thought my old car may be of some use. I showed it to our artist and he was ready to work on it. Within days, he modified it to make it fit on the train's body, and we finally had a train shoot. It's incredible.”
The car proves to be the lucky charm as Anurag used to take his wife out in the same car. Hope it gets success for his movie as well.
