Lovely daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year wherein she is sharing the screen space with debutantes Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra.

The flick is all set to hit theatres on 19th October. Very few people know that the newbie appeared as a child artist in Sangarsh (1999). Being daughter of Mahesh Bhatt the fortunate actress has got a grand platform to show her talent. In her forthcoming SOTY, the audience will see her as a rich spoiled girl obsessed with big brands. Well you would be amazed to know that contrary to the reel life image, the newcomer doesn’t bother about big brands in her real life. Buzz is that the newbie does not hanker after brands.

On being quizzed Alia told the sources, “As far as brands are concerned, I don't own a branded thing. I believe that I would only buy a branded item with my own money."

She further spoke about her character in the movie and added, "My character's name is Shanaya Singhania. She comes from a very affluent and a rich background. She loves her clothes and bags, which are branded. She is witty and intelligent." Contrary to her reel image, Alia happens to be quite rooted and sensible in real life. The girl aims at marking her presence in town with her talent and sheer hard work.
