Known as India’s Item girl, Rakhi Sawant, went through zero recognition with her first flick Agnichakra. She also performed in small roles in flicks like Zoru Ka Gulam, Jis Desh Me Ganga Rehta Hai and Ye Raaste Hain Pyar Ke, but remained unnoticed.  She got screen tests four times before she was finalized for an item number Mohabbat Hai Mirchi in Chura Lia hai Tumne.

Her first major hit performance was in remix of Pardesia in Dj Hot Remixes 3. After showcasing her dancing abilities in this sizzling sensual dance remix video, she took up various item number projects in her hand. She has also done some reality shows including Big Boss, Rakhi Ka Insaaf, Rakhi ka Swayamwar, Ye Hai Jalwa and  many more. In Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, she chose Elesh Parujanwala as her life partner and further did a show, Pati Patni Aur Woh with him but later on they had a split.

She would now be seen in the Bengali remake of The Dirty Picture. Rakhi has always been associated with countless controversies and is always under scanner due to her straight-forward nature and bold dress ups.
