Kangna Ranaut hails from a middle class family where she was born to a teacher named Asha and businessman father Amardeep. She hails from a town named Bambhala in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Kangna’s ancestors were from Royal reign of Jaipur before they moved to Himachal Pradesh. Kangna did her schooling from Dehradoon and then moved towards modeling and joined a modeling agency named Elite Modelling Agency in 2003.
She began her acting career with theatre in Delhi by working under Asmita Theatre Group and got trained under eminent theatre director Arvind Gaur. Kangna later moved to Mumbai to give a shot to acting and was spotted by Anurag Basu at some café and was instantly offered the role in Gangster.
Later Fashion bagged her first Filmfare award of best supporting actress where she played role of a model that gets blinded by name, fame and money so badly that she gives everything to get it back.
