Born as a second child to her parents Ronaldo and Samira, Ileana was raised in Mumbai. She was suggested to get a portfolio done and entered into the world of modeling. She is better recognized in for her Telegu movies. She appeared in commercially successful ventures like Pokiri (2006), Jalsa (2008) and Kick (2009), establishing herself as one of Telugu cinema's leading actresses.
She recalls that during filming she felt "pressured, almost cried and didn't want to go further", but went ahead after her mother encouraged her, giving her "the lecture of a lifetime at 3 am”. She also earned Filmfare Best female debut award.
She received accolades and appreciation for her performance as Satya, a college student who is on the run from the home minister's crooked son by whom she is targeted, when leading a protest and demanding punishment for his crimes. She was awarded the trophy of Best Female Telgu actress twice for Jalsa and Kick respectively.
