Married to Indian Golfer Jyoti Randhawa, Chitrangda is best known for her role in her debut Hazaron Khwahishein Aisi. Chitrangda came into limelight due to her resemblance to old veteran actress Smitha Patil. Chitrangda has another virtue added to her beauty and acting talent which is her knack of Khathak.

After the completion her education from Delhi and before entering into silver screen, Chitrangda tried her luck into modeling and performed in ads for ICICI bank and Alukkas Jewellery. She then switched and performed for the first time in Gulzar’s Sunset Point. She got brilliant review in Washington Post as quoted, "her character a deep sense of dignity and decency." She then acted in Kal: yesterday and Tomorrow and then she took a sabbatical from movies from 2005 to 2008.

In 2008 she made her comeback through Sanjay Suri’s romantic comedy Sorry Bhai. In Sudhir Mishra’s yeh Saali Zindagi, she portrays the character of an ambitious girl from Delhi who goes to Mumbai in search of money and fame. In Desi Boyz she was acting opposite Akshay Kumar as economics teacher.
