Born in a Guajarati family in Mumbai, Ashmit is Amisha Patel’s younger brother. A business studies graduate from University of Texas at Austin in United States, he began his carrier as an assistant director with Vikram Bhatt for Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage (2002) and then took a stab at many other flicks but couldn’t make them a blockbuster hit. Later on he got Inteha as his debut and he got into limelight after first commercial success, Murder.
He also worked in Kudion Ka Hai Zamana with Rekha and Mahima Chaudhary. His recent appearance on TV screen was witnessed in Big Boss season 4. Recently he was seen in Superstud on UTV Bindas channel. His upcoming movies include Good Night and Future Toh Bright Hai Ji.
